My Metal Detecting Finds (18/03/2014)

playa barro panoramica

Hello hunters, today I have gone to the one that is, in my opinion, the nicest beach of Asturias, it is a beach a bit removed from my city but it is precious, normally I go to beaches that are to less than 45 minutes of my house but in this  occasion I was a bit beyond and this way to share with you one of the most beautiful landscapes of Asturias…. Barro Beach

The beach has received the Blue flag award. It is situated near the village of the same name and is one of the most popular and well used beaches along the Llaniscan coast. This is due to its high quality, its services and its accessibility. You can get there by car from Celorio, Niembro, Posada, or from Barro itself. playa de barro

The beach is in the shape of a shell, 300 metres long and at low tide you can see little islets linked to the coast. These help to give the beach both its sheltered nature and its calm waters. Bathing here is excellent and very safe. Despite the large number of people who use the beach, it still maintains its beauty and that of the surrounding countryside.Barro is classified as an urban beach as has almost every type of service: car parks, security service, a Red Cross post showers, telephones, waste bins, a beach clearing service a good range of hotels and campsites as well as restaurants and bars which are open during the high season.

If you have the occasion to visit Asturias, the beaches near Llanes, they are the best. Today I have come to the beach at 9 a.m. and I was hunting until 12 a.m., I wanted to be more time but the batteries that I bought myself, that were new, were not of quality, beginner’s failure.

I have found only  coins, and most of them pesetas less a two of them, If the batteries had not trumped me, I had found something more…But I do not complain 😉

You can see in the photo all coins that I found.

Happy hunting¡¡¡ and G.L¡¡

My Metal Detecting Finds (17/03/2014)

Today I have gone to a new beach, a beach where I have never been going to hunt, Arenal del Morís Beach

An extended, sandy beach like all the beaches in Caravia, Arenal de Morís is also a beach where surf championships are held every year.  Its shape is a little peculiar, almost as if it’s actually 2 beaches divided by a small peninsula surrounded by rocks. Stairs and an accessible entry point were built on its Western side only but you can reach the Eastern side easily from there. You can reach Arenal de Morís by car (there’s an European highway and the National N-632 road passing nearby) but the most interesting way (my suggestion) is to follow the coastal path GR-204. arenal del moris

Really long beach (770 meters wide) of sand and very few rocks with all the amenities you need: showers, toilets, lifeguard, 2 parkings (a big one a bit further away and a small one close to the beach), a beach bar, a picnic area and a children playground. It’s accessible and a good fishing and surfing spot. It also has a camping nearby

And it has not been a good day, I don´t believe that it is because the beach is not good…. I believe the chosen moment is not the good one. In almost all the beaches of Asturias there have been storms but in the last ten days it has had good weather and sand has been accumulated in the beaches.

Of all forms the day was very good and the experience has been positive, good climate and a perfect environment to hunt. I have found a big screw, an object without identifying, a ring of silver and ten coins. You can see my finds in the next photo¡¡

Happy hunting¡¡¡¡¡ The next time I hope that it is a bit better 😉

My Metal Detecting Finds (14/03/2014)

Today I wanted to try in a new beach because the condition of the beaches is not too ideal to search… Or they are full of stones or it has returned to accumulate sand.

And after analyzing several beaches, I took my detector and went to Verdicio’s beach

The sea forms steep rocky cliffs on the central coast of this Principado of Asturias. In this area of low littoral, the rocks work as perpendicular limits to the sea and not as a firm barrier to the waves. These are beaches open to the Cantabrian Sea that are dangerous for swimming in many occasions. This fact is probably its major merit: the natural landscape it offers to us, to enjoy the sea on its wildest condition. This one covers 330 meters, but the whole area verdiciocovers 90,000 square meters on low tide counting with daily vigilance during the summer and restaurants in its surroundings. This one also forms dunes as in La Carniciega. The quality of its water is excellent although swimming is still dangerous. On high tide waves break on the same shore. In good weather conditions sea forms left waves which are suitable for experienced surfers. For all this, this beach is probably one of the most known in this region.

And it has not been OK but at least it was better than yesterday, the day was sunny and I enjoyed much the landscape and the beach.

I attach photo of my searches. A greeting to all and good weekend. HAPPY HUNTING¡¡¡

My Metal Detecting Finds (12/03/2014)

Rodiles oeste

Hello hunters¡¡¡, Today I have got up very soon because the tide was low at 8 a.m. And since I had´nt time to analyze a new beach… I thought that the best option was to repeat in a beach that already had searched: Rodiles Beach

One of the most beautiful beaches in Asturias. There are all types of playa rodiles
services and facilities from showers to a team of lifeguards so that the
beach is safe. Both sides of the beach are surrounded by woods and
cliffs that provide lovely views. Without doubt the surfers paradise of
Asturias. During the best part of the year you can see dozens of surfers
doing all kinds of manoeuvres on the waves. Behind the beach there are
sand dunes. The sand is fine and of excellent quality.

And the day has gone better than yesterday… I found more than 30 coins (most of them pesetas and some euros). And a silver ring and fisherman tools.

Tomorrow I will go to a new beach, already I will tell you. In the next photo you can see my finds¡¡

Happy Hunting¡¡¡¡

My Metal Detecting Finds (07/03/2014)

Today on Friday, I wanted to finish the week in a new beach … a beach that I had gone approximately 3 months ago, Carranques beach.

carranques beach

Carranque beach, the most important holidays Perlora City, maintaining the same high level of affluence of the area. At high tide is divided into two shell-shaped beaches that enjoy independent access (ramps / stairs). This promontory is a «temple geological ‘retained abundant fossils in the cliff. This beach is surrounded by large meadows and a recreational area. Following the promenade is located in the Priests Cove and then Entrellusa Island, whaling port until the seventeenth century.

Many years ago it was a very active beach, with many visitors. But nowadays The city of Perlora’s Vacations is totally left.

In the 50s, it was a residential city where thousands of persons were coming in summer.

Now to concentrate on the photo on what condition one finds nowadays. A disaster

perlora today2It is a shame but the crisis concerns everything.

All that does that the beach to which I went to searching only has found PESETAS. Nowadays only  come to the beach, runners or people walking the dog 😀

In the following photo you can see all my searches, everything  coins of peseta, in total more or less 40. There is interesting someone but I have to clean them a bit.

This weekend I work, so I wish all you a good weekend and HAPPY HUNTING¡¡¡
